Megan Dejnak

The year was 2005. Megan enthusiastically shouldered her dance bag, slipped on her tap shoes, and stepped into the Pizazz Dance Studio for the first time. The music started, little feet stomped, and Megan stood crying, clasping her hands over her ears. As time went on, she learned to love the pulsing beat of the music, the rhythmic sounds from her tap shoes, and found her passion for dance. She traveled all over New England and to New York City with the dance company, developed strength as an athlete in the studio, built confidence and stage presence as a performer, learned to express herself as an artist, and made lifelong friends that became family. She volunteered at summer camps, has taught classes, and has worked closely with her teachers to choreograph routines. For over 15 years, Pizazz Dance Studio has been Megan’s second home. Her fan club has never missed a recital (Grandpa, Nonnie, Buddy, Mimi, Guy, Dad, Dan, and Mom) and they look forward to supporting her future adventures at Bridgewater State University. Currently an undeclared major, Megan plans to actively participate in the dance community on campus. Our wish for Megan:

“We hope you never fear those mountains in the distance. Never settle for the path of least resistance. Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance...WE HOPE YOU DANCE!”

(adapted from Lee Ann Womak’s song)
